Mapping software that unlocks the potential of your land
Like many farms in the UK, Tim Hopkins family farm was becoming increasingly dependent on rural subsidies and needing to diversify its income in order to survive. Having no shortage of ideas about new income streams the real challenge lay in deciding which approach would lead to long term solutions that were both profitable and sustainable. The data required to make informed decisions about land use was disjointed, inaccessible or unreliable and the existing mapping software that should have solved these issues was expensive and difficult to use.
Tim decided this needed to change and with the support of Ordnance Survey, he founded The Land App. The process began in 2015 and has today become a truly fit for purpose digital land management system, that combines relevant land data with intuitive mapping software allowing users to:
- Instantly view all relevant data and information in a single digital map
- Design revenue-generating projects with digital drawing tools
- Quickly estimate the value of a project with automatic valuations
- Share digital maps and submit applications
- Manage multiple maps from a single dashboard
- Upload external data
The Land App’s pioneering approach unlocks the full potential of the land by harnessing the power of complex data in a single accessible system. This in turn enables better decision making that delivers a wide range of financial, environmental and social benefits.
Now an official partner of Ordnance Survey and Land Registry as well as working closely with many other trusts and organisations, The Land App is poised to quickly become the land management tool of choice.
